Cole Updates

Cole had his 1 Year Dr. appointment yesterday. He did ok, of course was upset as soon as Dr. Jim put him on the table to check him out. The shot and the hemoglobin finger prick did not help either. Thank goodness Chad was able to meet us for the appt. It is always nice to have the help. He is now 29 1/2 inches tall...4oth percentile, up from 10th at his 9 month appointment. He is just over 20lbs. so now in the 20th percentile for weight. Getting taller and thinning out, but he gained about 2lbs. since his 9 month appt. Dr. Jim gave us the ok to change his carseat to forward facing. We went for a walk on the Monon last night and for ice cream afterwards (just to make sure we did not burn any calories) and Cole loved the ride. He was pointing at the street lights and checking things out through his window. So cute! He is doing really well with his sippy cups and table food. His has perfected eating bananas, peaches, blueberries, waffles, ravioli's, mac n cheese, gardenburgers, my cereal in the mornings and anything else we are eating. We are still working on chicken and vegetables. He used to gag on things he did not like, now he just spits them out. We will get there eventually. Besides saying mama and dada, he also says..."Hi", these are at least the words we understand...the other babbling we are still trying to translate. It is so sweet to hear his little voice. Here are some recent pictures. His new thing is to turn the water on at the tub in our bathroom. It is the cold water side, so I don't mind and it keeps him busy. He always looks at us like..."This is too fun, are you sure you don't want to tell me NO!" The other pictures are of him playing in his closet. This is where we do all the "after bath" work, it seems to not be as big of a struggle to dry him off, comb his hair, etc. Stay tuned for his 12 month pictures that we should have soon. That is if any turned out...it was a hot, hot day and we were all cranky.
