Visits: Grandparents and the ENT

My Dad (Poppy) and Grandma Linda were in town from Florida to visit with all of us and get Laurie settled in her new apartment back here in Indy. Their visits are always short and sweet but we had a good time. Cole and Drake were both sick so we weren't able to all get together. Papaw Mark and Dawn came up for a visit too on Sunday evening!

We had a productive week from the standpoint of Cole's ear infections. We were able to get him on a 5th round of antibiotics which helps with the nighttime waking, crying, fever and not eating that happens with the onset of another ear infection. We also were able to get referred and into the ENT in the same week to get Cole scheduled for tubes on Thursday, March 4th. We are so relieved and looking forward to getting our little guy better after this 3 month long cycle of ear infections and antibiotics. Dr. Jim has extended this round of antiobiotics to get us to the procedure so that the fluid that is in both ears will not cause another infection. At his procedure they will drain the fluid and any infection and then insert the tubes. We are praying for a successful procedure...it seems scary to think they will put him under, even if only for a few minutes.
