Charleston was SO MUCH FUN this year! My whole side of the family was able to go with us. Like everyone...Mom, Dad & Linda, Julie and her family, Paul & Ashlynn and Brock and his family. The cousins had a blast and so did us adults. We all stayed in a row house right on the beach and then Brock and Angie were right next door in a condo. We started out on Friday and stayed the night in Asheville. Paul and Ashlynn did the same but stopped to stay in Atlanta with Julie. Ashlynn (4.5) and Khloe (3.5) had never met before this night. The "little girls" were fast friends. Then we all got into Charleston on Saturday afternoon, got settled in and had a pizza party with everyone. The week was full of morning beach walks and finds of great conch shells and even a few rare sand dollars. After lunch we usually hit the pool which was right off our porch (the monitor reached for Miles napping..YAY!) We discovered we all like Strawberry Ale and even some where known to enjoy some frozen concoctions made by the bartenders at the Grand Pavilion. After dinner was 'crabbing' on the beach. The kids loves to use the flash lights to find little crabs and keep them in their cups until the big release at the end of the hunt. I think the adults had just as much fun as the kids. Some of those crabs were huge and one so big he could crawl out of the cup. Lots of fun memories we all made. Our house was perfect and we are all hoping to rent and return next October. My boys loved the beach and this was Miles' first time to really check it out. He was only 8 months last year when we went. We are so thankful to have been able to have this great week with family!
Stay tuned for family pics on the beach that Angie took while we were there. So excited to see them when they are finished!
