December and Christmas 2011

We had a great Christmas with family and friends this year!  Cole was so much fun and LOVED opening his gifts.  The Thursday before Christmas we went to hang out with Santa at The Sargents' as he made a special trip to see these 5 little ones before he had his big run on Saturday night.  The kids were in shock when he walked through the door with candy canes from the North Pole and one of their most requested gifts...early and he read them all the story of The Night Before Christmas!!  Lots of Batman items were on the list and Santa did not disappoint.  We really enjoyed celebrating Jesus' birthday with a Christmas concert at church which was so fun.  I think Cole, Mia and Drake jumped most of the time to the music.  Christmas Eve Service with Granna and Grandpa and Happy Birthday singing on Christmas day.  We really were so concerned that at this age and his love of toys and opening gifts that the true reason/meaning would get lost in the shuffle.  We sure hope it didn't, but it is something we will continue to teach through the years.  Cole's song this season was Silent Night.  They sang it for his last Heartland Hall Christmas program and whenever they played it at church, the radio or wherever he got this big smile on his face and said..."It's my song."  We had to sing it to him at night before he went to sleep and could even hear him after we came down singing it on his own.  He is a great singer!  So cute.

We also said goodbye to our elf Leo on Christmas Eve.  Cole wanted to take his picture and has asked about him often since.  Leo was a lot of fun for all this year.

I also had my last day at Monster on December 30th after 11 1/2 years.  As most of you know, I will be staying home with the boys full time.  I feel so blessed to have this opportunity!  We have already noticed such a calm to our daily routine and are really savoring the days we have together...for now, just Cole and I! We both are taking daily naps and resting up for the new baby!

We are looking forward to a Great 2012 and in just 3 weeks our new addition to the family!! We are all so excited!
