December and Christmas 2012

We had a busy December and it seemed to fly by and so did the Christmas holiday!  Uncle Paul and Ashlynn came home for Christmas this year (kind of-they came mid December) and we got to spend a weekend with them at Mom's.  They always have so much fun together.  They just talk and laugh and he is a good sport to play baby dolls with her and be the 'Daddy'!! Haha!We loved being with them.

Miles FIRST Christmas and his favorite thing was wrapping paper.  Really, he is all about anything that he can get into his mouth.  Cole is at such a fun age for Christmas.  We had to revise and add to his list throughout the whole month.  Leo (our elf) was of course a big hit again this year.  It is always sad when he leaves us on Christmas Eve, but the anticipation of Christmas morning is so much greater than his departure.  We deal with a few questions in the days that follow..."Do you think Leo will come back today?"  We had a snow day from preschool the Friday before Christmas so we have had a nice long break from getting up and out the door for school on MWF's.

We started a new tradition this year with the advent calendar and put little pieces of paper in each day of something we would do for someone else, as we moved the candy cane each day.  So along with finding Leo each morning, Cole could not wait to pull out the paper from the advent calendar.  It was a lot of fun!  This may be the last year for our current Christmas Tree.  The idea of pre-lit sounds awesome until the bulbs start going out.  The tree is 6 years old, we got it our first Christmas in our house.  So after 3 hours of bulb repair (Chad is awesome!) the tree was lit enough to salvage.  One of the very few expenses of an unbelievable number (think new AC unit in spring...UGH!!), we have been able to escape from this year!

All in all we have had a very blessed 2012, with the addition of our sweet Miles and me being able to be home with the boys full time.  Some days are crazy but I would not want to be anywhere else.  I love my days with them.  We are so thankful for so many things...our wonderful family, friends, and health to name just a few.  We are praying for God's will, guidance and looking forward to seeing what he has planned for us in 2013!

Merry Christmas (belated of course) and many blessings for the New Year!

Tons of pics!  Enjoy!

Miles loved the singing stuffed animals.  They only made it until about Mid December.
We could not take them all together singing all month.  Haha!

He LOVES his cousins!  They are the BEST!

He wants so bad to see out that window.  We watched Cole go from here to opening the door himself.  It goes so fast.
