Warning: Long Post! So the above did not get posted back in February! Haha! So now we have an expert walker. Miles is almost running and does 'run' away (aka pick up the walking speed) from us when it is time for a diaper change or just want him to cooperate in general. Oh this guy, we love him so, but WOW he is way more curious and active than I remember Cole being at this age. Each day sometimes feels about survival and keeping him safe. All bathroom doors have to remain shut at all times or the situation pictured below happens. All our cabinets have additional interior locks that were not needed with Cole. We could tell Cole No and he would move on, not Miles. He just keeps going for it and will not stop. We still have up the pack n play for times like unloading the dishwasher, so he cannot get to the knives and for times like going to the bathroom when you don't want to worry if he is pulling the dvr out of the cabinet with cording and all.
In the hopes that spring eventually arrives we put together our new bike trailer and had an almost 50 degree day yesterday, so we took it out for a bike ride. The boys loved it! We all needed the fresh air. Now today, we are looking at a couple inches of snow already and suppose to get more. Indiana weather you gotta love it.
Cole is finishing up his first year of preschool at CUMC (the last week of school is the first week of May) and has really loved this year and his teachers. He has meet some really great friends that will all be playing instructional baseball with in the next few weeks. Chad is the assistant coach so is looking forward to helping these 14..4 and 5 years old learn to play baseball. We are set with our cleats and have been practicing in the basement. Stay tuned for pictures.
Heading out later this week to Atlanta to see Aunt Julie, Uncle Paul and Khloe. Looking forward to seeing their new house, celebrating Easter, Khloe's 3rd birthday, seeing Poppy and Grandma Linda (driving in from FL) and visiting Lego land. Praying the boys travel well and sleep well there or this could be a long 4 day trip. Thinking positive thoughts and believing for a great time with family. I have gone back and forth in my mind over the last few weeks about whether we should make this trip or not. Miles is just at 'that age' right now. He is just so busy and really sleeps through the night about 90% of the time. I just feel like I can't let that stop us from trying to enjoy them at this age and get out of our daily routine a little. If nothing else for Cole at this point. I just really want us to be able to travel and do fun things with them and not let the work of little ones keep us home bound. The good thing is that we will have Mom and Terry traveling down and Dad and Linda too...8 adults to 3 kids, I think we will be just fine.
A quick note on Legos...Cole and Chad are obsessed. They sit at the kitchen table for hours, putting them together, talking and playing. It is the cutest thing. Wish these Lego sets were not so expensive.
Oh well, for some reason the price feels worth it.
Cole with his CUMC friends at a playdate!
